Royals v SWTR Centurions Preview

The SWTR Centurions make the long trip right along the South Coast for the midday showdown with the Kent Royals at Lydd today.

The NDL Clash will be the first time an official Plymouth Team has raced at the famous Lydd track, a long time Training facility, which the newly formed Kent Royals side are using in 2022, after their move from their Sittingbourne base following the retirement of their legendary Promoter Len Silver at the end of the 2021 season

The SWTR Centurions will have Nathan Ablitt, who rides for Poole in the Championship and The Belle Vue Colts the NDL as guest for the injured Dan Gilkes, in what looks like possibly their strongest line up since Gilkes was injured early in the season.

Line Up:

Nathan Ablitt (Guest Dan Gilkes)

R/R (Ben Trigger)

Adam Extance (Captain)

Richard Andrews

Adam Roynon

David Abraham

Rhys Naylor

Team Manager – Mattie Bates

We’ll have news of the result tomorrow morning together with a preview and Team news for the rearranged Championship Match between The Plymouth Westcolour Gladiators and the Redcar Bears on Tuesday night.

Following the defeat of Scunthorpe at Berwick in the Championship  last night, Plymouth are assured of a top 6 League finish, but with Redcar and Scunthorpe vying for the 6th spot and the 5th and 6th places still undecided this will be a crucial Match to decide whether Plymouth face Poole, who are already guaranteed 3rd place or Edinburgh, already guaranteed 4th place in the Play Off Quarter Final. Play Off positions will be determined on the Championship  cut off date of Wednesday 31st August.

Finally a note for your diaries, the rearranged date for the Championship match between The Gladiators and The Glasgow Tigers has been agreed for Tuesday 6th September at 7.00 at The Coliseum.
