Jack Smith joins The Gladiators
Plymouth Atkins Financial Management Gladiators have made a further change to their line-up by bringing in 22-year-old Jack Smith to replace recent signing, Luke Ruddick who has asked to be released.
Smith, the son of three-time British Champion and Grand Prix rider, Andy Smith will make his debut against the Glasgow Tigers on Tuesday evening (7pm) at the Coliseum and slots into the ‘Rising Star’ berth in the team.
Ironically, Smith began the season with Glasgow and is grateful to Plymouth promoter Mark Phillips for giving him the opportunity to make a quick return to the sport.
Phillips said ‘Luke has asked to stand down from the team and I’m delighted to get Jack in as a replacement. Jack has ridden at Plymouth previously and has excellent equipment so he should boost our bottom end scoring’.
Tickets for the much-anticipated clash with second placed Glasgow can be booked on-line here. There will be no pay at the gate admission for this meeting.
