Gladiators v The Monarchs – Meeting Preview

The Play Off chasing Westcolour Gladiators return to action at The Coliseum on Tuesday Evening for a mouth-watering clash against the Edinburgh Monarchs who include in their side two of the leading Championship rated Riders the dynamic Australian pairing of Sam Masters and Josh Pickering.

With the Jubilee Bank Holiday and School Half-Term week upon us the Club has launched its innovative UNDER 16’S GO FREE and Under 16 Season Pass for all future Speedway Fixtures at The Coliseum in 2022.

Full Details of how Individual Families and Groups can take advantage of this Scheme can be found here:

There is not a more exciting spectacle than World Class Speedway on a Stadium Circuit; and we look forward to welcoming our much valued existing Supporters, returning families and new Supporters from across the South West and further afield to our regular Tuesday Night Speedway action.

The Plymouth Gladiators will again welcome British and South West Speedway legend Chris “Bomber” Harris as Guest Rider to replace injured No 1 Edward Kennett and with our experienced Danish Starts Hans Andersen and Michael Palm-Toft and crowd favourites Ben Barker and Alfie Bowtell joined by our new Reserve pairing of Ben Morley and Harry McGurk, the WestColour Gladiators will be eager to maintain their unbeaten Home League record to push onwards to a Play Off slot at the send of the League season.

The Edinburgh Monarchs will provide formidable opposition with Sam Masters long regarded by many as the best Rider at this level, he’ll be supported by Josh Pickering, whose exciting swashbuckling style is earning rave reviews across the UK and European Leagues. The Monarchs track the very promising Kye Thomson and the always popular Italian star Paco Castagna also in their top 5 and will use the Rider Replacement facility (where rides are shared amongst Team Members) for the injured Lasse Fredricksen. At reserve the Monarchs  have an exciting Australian newcomer in Jacob Hook and enlist Devon’s Plymouth SWTR Centurion rider, Ben Trigger, as a Guest replacement for the injured James Sargeant. Ben is now eligible for Championship action following his recent 16th birthday.
