Due to the appalling weather we have had throughout the winter, and especially the unprecedented rain we have had during February and March, the Coliseum track has had no time to dry out.
Therefore, Mark, our promotor, has taken the very sensible decision to postpone the first two home meetings: Poole, on the 30th March and Oxford, on the 6th April.
To put this into context, February has been the wettest on record in Plymouth, and March, so far, has also been exceptionally wet. The average rainfall in Plymouth in March is between 70 and 80mm but so far this month the city has had 165mm of rain!
The yearly total so far is 677mm, more than half what we would normally see annually so you can see what we have been up against! Although this is disappointing, it is a very wise decision because the track is still currently spongy and it needs a consistent spell of sunshine to bake it dry: sunshine that we just have not had anywhere near enough of!
Furthermore, the next two weeks are showing rain almost every day in some form so by making this decision early it saves any confusion and uncertainty.
The rescheduled dates will be posted as soon as they have been decided.
We would like to thank you for your understanding and continued support.
