Pirates snatch victory from Gladiators

The Poole Pirates took the 2 Cab Direct Championship points, with a 44-46 victory over the Plymouth Prow Park Gladiators in a last heat decider at The Coliseum.

The Gladiators had taken the early meeting advantage, leading by 2 points after heat 4, with Ben Trigger taking his first championship heat victory. 

The Pirates fought back however, to open up a 6 point lead by heat 11, before two successive 5-1 heat advantages to the Gladiators, saw the home team claw the deficit back and re-establish a two point lead after heat 13.

The penultimate heat saw the Pirates deliver a maximum heat advantage of their own, with the resulting shared nominated heat 15 enough to see them take the victory on the night.

The two teams meet again tomorrow night (7th June) at Wimborne road.
