Gladiators just miss out at Kent

After the thrilling draw at the Coliseum two weeks ago, the two sides produced another close encounter with the home side only pulling away towards the end of the meeting to secure their first Championship win.

Gladiators again had Danny King and Leon Flint as guests for injured duo Jason Crump and Henry Atkins and it was King who made an immediate mark on the meeting, winning Heat One with a new track record.

Zach Cook, riding at number 3, having switched positions with Steven Goret won Heat 3 in impressive style and after six races, Plymouth led by four points.

A Kent 5-1 in Heat 7 saw the sides draw level, but Gladiators’ immediately hit back with a 5-1 of their own through Flint and Alfie Bowtell, who continued his recent impressive form.

Going into Heat 12, Plymouth still held a two-point lead, but Kent secured victory with two 5-1s and a 4-2 in the last four races.
