Tigers take the points

A patched up Plymouth Prow Park Gladiators went down to a narrow 42-48 defeat against The Glasgow Tigers at The Coliseum.

Already missing the injured Dan Thompson (dislocated shoulder) and Ben Barker (broken collarbone), the Gladiators were dealt a further blow when Dan Gilkes sustained a broken wrist, whilst riding for Sheffield at Peterborough on Monday evening.  Nathan Ablitt and Jason Edwards were drafted in as guests, with the Gladiators running rider replacement for Barker.

After delivering a maximum 5-1 heat advantage in the first heat, The Tigers then opened up a 6 point gap by heat 5, before extending their lead to 12 points by the interval. The Gladiators delivered a spirited comeback to take heat advantages in four of the remaining five heats, but the Tigers held on to take the meeting and the aggregate bonus point.  Kyle Howarth top scored for The Gladiators with 15, backed by Richie Worrall (13).
