Scorpions dominate

The Scunthorpe Scorpions took a dominant first leg lead in the first round of the Cab Direct KO Cup with a 61-29 victory over The Gladiators.

With guest Anders Rowe unable due to an injured foot, the Gladiators ran with Rider Replacement for injured number 1 Nico Covatti. Skipper Ben Barker withdrew from the meeting after looping at the start in heat 6, whilst Joe Thompson also suffered a nasty crash with Nathan Ablitt in heat 14.   Kyle Neman top scored for the Gladiators with 8+1,  backed by the Thompson twins with Dan (6+2) and Joe 6.
