Cheetahs take the points.

In another nip and tuck meeting at The Coliseum, the table topping Oxford Cheetahs emerged to take a 42-47 victory over the Plymouth Prow Park Gladiators.

After a shared opening heat, and a reverse 2-4 in heat 2, the Gladiators levelled the scores by heat three and held a one point advantage all the way up to heat 8.

Both sides then traded heat advantages and the lead before the Cheetahs delivered two maximum heat advantages in heats 12 and 13 to edge ahead by 7.

A 5-1 to the Gladiators in the penultimate heat gave the home team the chance to snatch a result in the nominated heat 15, but a final 2-4 to the Cheetahs saw them take the Cab Direct Championship points.

Dan Gilkes 9 (+2) and Kyle Howarth 9 top scored for the Gladiators.
