Chargers v The Centurions Preview
The Plymouth SWTR Centurions who are due to also visit the Kent Royals on Sunday begin a busy few days with a trip to the Oxford Chargers tonight.
The Chargers are part of the newly formed Promotion that has returned Speedway to the University City in 2022 with big Crowds and massive positivity about their venture into Championship and NDL Speedway.
The Track has been significantly altered since the Track was last used almost two decades ago, so will present a new challenge for all of the SWTR Centurions.
The SWTR Centurions are actively searching for a replacement for the departed Henry Atkins and will tonight bring in Plymouth Westcolour Gladiator Alfie Bowtell as a Guest for the injured Dan Gilkes. They also enlist unattached riders Ben Phillips and Sam Woods to replace Atkins and to cover for absent reserve Eli Meadows. This allows Connor KIng to move to reserve, with Ben Trigger moving into the top 5 of the team.
Dan is now home from hospital and starting his long recovery process from severe arm injuries and broken ribs and problems caused by a collapsed lung. He is already working on his fitness and is keen to make a comeback when able to do so and only following strict medical guidance.
We’ll have a review of the Meeting tomorrow and a Preview of the SWTR Centurions trip to Kent on Saturday.
