The Plymouth ProwPark Gladiators returned to winning ways with a 53-37 victory over the Berwick Bandits in the Cab Direct Championship, a scoreline which also saw the home team take the aggregate bonus point.
After losing the re-run of the opening heat 2-4, The Gladiators then took control of the meeting, taking heat advantages in 8 of the 14 remaining heats, with Joe Thompson delivering his best return at The Coliseum, with 11 points from reserve.
Dan Thompson also continued his rich vein of form, top scoring with 12+1, backed by brother Joe and guest Troy Batchelor with 10+1, whilst Ben Barker suffered another crash for the second week running, following a coming together with Drew Kemp in heat 7, which saw the Gladiators skipper leave the track in an ambulance.

The Gladiators who will be looking to return to winning ways following their narrow defeat against Redcar, welcome back skipper Ben Barker following his crash last week against the Bears, whilst Dan Thompson returns after suffering from covid. Troy Batchelor again guests in place of Nico Covatti.
The Bandits are suffering from their own injury crisis, with skipper Rory Schlein expected to be ruled out for the season following a crash at Scunthorpe. Zach Cook comes in as a guest, whilst former Gladiators Jason Edwards and Paul Starke come in for the injured Jye Etheridge and Bastian Borke.

The Plymouth Gladiators suffered a narrow 43-47 defeat against the Redcar Bears, in another competitive meeting at the Coliseum.
Already missing the inform Dan Thompson (suffering with Covid), the Gladiators then lost Ben Barker following a fall in his opening heat 4 ride, with the skipper eventually withdrawing on medical grounds.
Despite the setback, the remaining Gladiators battled hard, keeping hopes of a draw alive until the last heat of the meeting, before the Bears skipper Charles Wright took the checkered flag to secure the away victory. Alfie Bowtell top scored for The Gladiators with 13+2, back by guest Troy Batchelor with 12+1.

The re-arranged clash, following the rain off last week will finalise the BSN Southern group, with a place in the semi-final up for grabs.
The Gladiators revert to rider replacement for number one Nico Covatti who is still struggling with a leg injury after attempting to return to track action at Wimborne last week, whilst with Oxford Chargers rider Jason Garrad comes in for Kyle Newman who is unavailable, with no facility for his absence.
The Pirates are at full strength, with Sam Hagon moving into the main body of the tem with Tobias Thomsen at reserve.

The Plymouth ProwPark Gladiators suffered a tough night at Wimborne Road, losing 58-32 against The Poole Pirates in the BSN Series Southern.
The Gladiators were holding their own and were only four points down after heat 6, but the Pirates took command of the second half of the meeting, delivering heat advantages in seven of the remaining races.
Dan Thompson continued his impressive start to the season, top scoring with 10, backed by skipper Ben Barker with 8(+1) whilst reserves Joe Thompson and Jacob Hook chipped in with 5+2 and 5+1 respectively. The returning Nico Covatti withdrew from the meeting after two rides.
The return leg takes place at the Coliseum tomorrow (25th May), with tapes up at 7pm.
