The Plymouth Gladiators are just one step away from booking their place in the MaxiCab Knockout Cup Final after confirmation that the scheduled Cab Direct Championship fixture against the Redcar Bears on Saturday 13th June at Plymouth Coliseum has now been changed to the decisive second leg of the MaxiCab Knockout Cup Semi-Final.
The semi-final showdown will begin with the first leg on Friday 12th June at the ECCO Arena, home of the Bears, before the tie returns to home shale the following evening in what promises to be a huge night for the club, riders and supporters alike.
With a place in the final at stake, the Gladiators know that everything will be on the line when tapes go up in Plymouth, and the atmosphere inside the Coliseum could prove crucial in helping the team over the line.

Team Manager Garry May believes the occasion is one the riders will relish.
“These are the meetings everyone wants to be involved in. To have the second leg at home gives us a real opportunity, but we know Redcar will be a very tough opponent over the two legs. The boys are determined, focused and fully aware of what’s at stake. We’re one meeting away from reaching a major final and that should excite everyone connected with the club.”
May also highlighted the importance of the home support as the Gladiators aim to continue their push for silverware.
“Our fans can make a massive difference. When the Coliseum gets behind the team it creates a special atmosphere and lifts the riders. We’ll need every bit of support and encouragement possible because this is a huge occasion for the club.”

Promoter Mark Phillips echoed those sentiments and urged supporters to turn out in force for what could be a landmark night in the club’s season.
“Cup meetings always carry that extra edge and to have a place in the final on the line makes this incredibly exciting. We’ve worked hard to put ourselves in this position and now we have a fantastic opportunity ahead of us. We hope the supporters will come out in big numbers and create an unforgettable atmosphere for the riders.”

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early for what promises to be a thrilling night of speedway action, with gates opening at 5pm and tapes up at 7pm.
Tickets are available online in advance and can also be purchased on the gate using both cash and card payment options. In another boost for families and supporters, children can attend for free, making it the perfect opportunity to get behind the Gladiators as they chase a place in the MaxiCab Knockout Cup Final.
