Gladiators return home to face Scorpions after battling away double-header
After a demanding weekend on the road against Glasgow Tigers and Workington Comets, Plymouth Gladiators return to home shale this Saturday as they welcome Scunthorpe Scorpions to the Coliseum for their first home fixture of the Cab Direct Championship campaign.

The Gladiators showed plenty of fight across both away meetings, battling hard in difficult conditions and producing several encouraging performances despite the challenges faced on their travels. Attention now quickly turns to home action, where Plymouth will be looking to build momentum in front of their own supporters.
Team manager Garry May believes the effort and togetherness shown by the side over the weekend gives plenty of reason for optimism heading into Saturday’s clash.

“The boys dug deep over the weekend and everybody played their part,” said May.

“It’s never easy going to places like Glasgow and Workington back-to-back, but there were a lot of positives to take from both meetings. Now we’re looking forward to getting back home and putting on a performance for our supporters.”
May also paid tribute to the Plymouth supporters who travelled in strong numbers across the weekend.

“Our away fans were incredible and we really appreciate the dedication they show in supporting us on the travels. To make those journeys and get behind the team the way they did means a lot to everyone involved with the club.”

May stressed just how important the Coliseum crowd can be for the team as they look to kickstart their home campaign.

“Our fans make a huge difference. The riders really do feed off the atmosphere and support from the terraces. When the crowd gets behind the lads, it lifts everybody and can genuinely swing races our way.

“We want the Coliseum rocking on Saturday night because that backing can have a massive impact for us.”

Gates open at 5pm with tapes up at 7pm. Supporters can purchase tickets online in advance or pay on the gate on the night.

With the Gladiators eager to turn strong performances into valuable league points, supporters can expect another hard-fought and entertaining evening of Championship speedway as Scunthorpe visit Plymouth for what promises to be an important early-season contest.
