The Plymouth Prow Park Gladiators launched their Cab Direct Championship campaign with a  49-41 victory over The Scunthorpe Scorpions in another action packed encounter at The Coliseum.

The Gladiators had opened a 10 point lead by heat 11, only for the Scorpions to put the pressure on in the remaining heats, starting with a tactical substitute ride by Ryan Douglas in heat 11.  With four points separating the sides in the nominated heat 15, Ben Barker & Kyle Howarth teamed up to secure a maximum heat advantage and victory for the Gladiators.
